Her family's Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery was founded within Erie Pennsylvania in 1847 by her family. John Martin Magenau Jr. was the president as well as Chief Executive Officer, of this brewery, was the first to establish it in Erie Pennsylvania in 1847 until 1978. Jacobs started studying acting at the age of eight and attended acting classes on Saturdays in the Pittsburgh Playhouse while growing up.She was a part of the Pittsburgh Public Theater where she always competed in the Public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest leading her to be chosen in the role of Titania in the stage production A Midsummer Night's Dream. When she graduated from Mt. Jacobs quit Lebanon High School and moved to New York City, in 2000. In New York City, she was a part of the Drama Division of Group 33. In 2004, she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree.
